Surfside is a favorite area of Nantucket for a vacation rental because of its easily accessible beaches and its proximity to town and mid-island conveniences. Just a few miles south of town, Surfside Beach is very popular with families and those wishing to ride their bikes out to the beach, which is located at the end of one of the island’s most popular bike baths. Surfside is a popular beach due to its large area for sunbathing, medium-sized waves, and lifeguarded swimming area. There is also ample vehicle parking, bike racks, bus service, bathroom facilities, and a concession stand. Surfside is the only beach on the south shore that boasts this many amenities. Just down the street from the beach is one of America’s oldest youth hostels, as well as several other beaches with smaller parking areas and access points through the dunes.
Many homes in Surfside enjoy water views and peaceful, woodsy surroundings. This area is a favorite for those folks looking to be just a bit out of town and enjoy leisurely, beach-filled vacations. A rear access road from Surfside to Nantucket Memorial Airport is also convenient for those arriving by air.
